About CMA
Chicago Media Angels (CMA) was founded in 2015. We connect people, capital, and ideas. Our mission is to build a more efficient capital market for storytellers and artists. We develop, finance, and support compelling storytelling in feature films and digital media.
Executive Production
CMA functions as a loan-out for Ted and Mark, who serve as executive producers on feature films and digital media. We charge EP fees at rates similar to DGA Directors Theatrical Agreement rates.
Investment Management
We manage investments into many of the same films we produce, and sometimes into films produced by third parties. Our focus is on compelling stories and strong creative teams. Under Investment Management:
- Angel Investor Group — Our core members are patrons of the arts and investors in compelling storytelling. They participate in selected deals and in CMA Secure Capital.
- CMA Secure Capital — Our fund provides accessible financing for tax incentives and other collateral unique to film production, while delivering safe returns for investors. Zero principal losses to date.
